Our annual One Word at a Time gala was an unforgettable evening of community, resilience, and hope. Together, nearly 500 supporters, therapists, volunteers, and survivors gathered at the Four Seasons Hotel Austin to celebrate the incredible progress of our clients and protect affordable therapy access across Central Texas.

Courage on Center Stage

The heart of the evening was guided by two phenomenal emcees from our own community. The spotlight belonged to our courageous stroke survivors, including client speaker Patrick—who delivered a moving speech to the crowded room just weeks before officially becoming an Austin Speech Labs graduate! The room also experienced John Jackson's powerful journey through this year's featured client video, John's Encore.

Reclaiming Identity and Connection

Our speakers proved that intensive recovery is about far more than speech mechanics. It is about reclaiming identity, preserving dignity, and restoring human connection. The funds raised directly fuel our intensive individual sessions, group programs, and signature aphasia boot camps.
